Bukittinggi’s Tourist Objects

Bukittinggi is one of the major cities in West Sumatra. Bukittinggi named because it was located in mountainous areas and hilly. Bukittinggi is the highest town in West Sumatra, which reaches 950 meters high above sea level. This causes Bukittinggi cold and cool. In addition, Bukittinggi city tour has been called Tourist city, because there are many tourist objects that can be visited. As the Clock Tower, Sianok Canyon, Fort de Kock, Kinantan zoo, home birth of Bung Hatta, and the Hatta convention center. This time will be told of the three objects of the most visited attractions in Bukittinggi. They are the Clock Tower, Sianok Canyon, and Fort de Kock.

First is the Clock Tower. Clock Tower is a symbol of the city of Bukittinggi. Located in the downtown area with 26 meters high. Clock Tower built in the Dutch period, which functions as a determinant of the time at war. Top of Clock Tower at the first time initially dome-shaped with rooster decoration on it. In the Japanese era, the top replaced by Japanese houses. After Indonesian independence, the top hours of substituted with typical Minang roof or Gonjong. Every one hour, the clock would go off and sound to all corners of the city of Bukittinggi.

The second is Sianok Canyon. Sianok Canyon is hilly region known for its scenery. The scenery was very beautiful. Rice fields stretched between the high cliffs are steep and the river flowing beneath. On the cliffs there are also many caves hiding from Japanese troops, which is also known as Japanese Cave. The visitors can witness this scene in the park specially made to see the scene.

Third is the Fort de Kock. The fort is a Dutch heritage buildings. The building is located on the hill west of the Clock Tower. The building was built as a defense of the Dutch troops at Padri War. Because located on the hill, we can also see the sights around the town of Bukittinggi. As information, this fortress is also close to other tourist attractions, named Kinantan zoo. Because it is located between two hills, then created a bridge between two objects of this tour, which Limpapeh Bridge. The bridge is located in Ahmad Yani street, who looked past the two hills where the two tourist attractions, the Fort de Kock and the zoo.

That's three attractive tourist and crowded tourists visited in Bukittinggi. Both domestic tourists, and foreign countries. For that, as a writer I feel proud as a Bukittinggi people. Because of Bukittinggi is a city that popular among the tourists. Despite two weeks of vacation time I didn’t go to Bukittinggi, enough to tell me was feeling back to Bukittinggi. That is a tourist glimpsee attraction in Bukittinggi.
